Is Liposuction Really The Answer?

Filed Under (Health) by Isabel on 11-05-2007

Let’s be real, we all want to lose weight the fast and easy way, right? I know I do! But shouldn’t our main concern be not the fact that it’s fast or easy, but that it is healthy? Soo many of us result to unnecessary means in order to lose weight. Now more than ever, men and woman are having their stomaches stapled or tummies tucked to rid the unwanted pounds. So, I have to ask myself … is liposuction really the answer?

Liposuction can cause weight loss by removing fat from underneath the skin, but does it result in long lasting weight loss? How can a person learn to eat right and exercise properly if all they have to do is schedule an appointment with their surgeon in order to lose weight? Liposuction sounds more like a quick fix rather than the answer to long lasting weight loss.

My personal opinion is that any kind of surgery is only necessary in a life and death situation. If surgery means you live rather than die, then by all means do what’s necessary. If you only need to lose those extra unwanted pounds, then please try to lose weight the old fashioned way … by eating healthy and exercising regularly.
